Geonamic as a Committed Partner: Data Migration & Full-Scale Application Upgrade Case Study
Presented by Jackie Smith & Apurva Joshi, Esri Energy Resources GIS Conference, April 30, 2025

At Geonamic, we recognize that while PODS 7 is a standardized data model, each client’s implementation is uniquely tailored to their specific operational needs. These variations are critical to account for during development, testing, workflow documentation, and training.
Once a new PipelineOffice Studio build is configured to align with the client’s database, Geonamic delivers fully customized documentation to support that environment. We provide focused, modular training tailored to different user groups, using real-world business case data to ensure relevance and effectiveness. All training sessions are recorded and made available to the client for future reference.
To ensure the successful execution of every project, Geonamic prioritizes the identification and engagement of project owners, key drivers, and end users. Through our experience and industry insight, we continually refine our approach to address common challenges, enhancing our software for the benefit of future users of PODS 7 and the PipelineOffice Studio suite.
By managing both the Data Migration and Software Implementation in-house, Geonamic maintains end-to-end control of the process. This unified approach enhances support, reduces risk, and delivers a seamless experience for the operator.
Client-Focused : More than a contractor – A committed partner
From database migration to software implementation, we deliver reliable pipeline solutions to all of our clients. We pride ourselves on catering to the unique needs of each operator delivering customized solutions, customized application documentation and training materials that fit the need of each operator.

Geonamic Attends PTC in Berlin
Geonamic supported the PODS booth this year attending alongside PODS service provider companies and helping to educate the global pipeline audience on the benefits of becoming a PODS member and answering questions on the PODS data model and membership.
We also supported PODS and our colleagues and clients , BP and Williams, as they delivered on the Digital Twin panel discussion on the first day of the event.
We attended technical sessions throughout the conference and especially enjoyed the Global Women in Pipeline forum serving as the platform to elevate women’s contributions to the pipeline business and engaging men to provide support in more inclusive and equitable manner benefiting everyone in our industry.
Risk Model Improvement Initiative, Continued Conversations
Geonamic and Pipeline-Risk, both leading technology providers in the oil and gas midstream market, have partnered to sponsor a working group of forward-thinking pipeline operators and risk experts. The goal of the working group is to combine the experience, expertise and data of each participant to explore the practicality of adopting advanced and versatile machine-learned risk models. The project will focus on the efficacy of the models, validation of risk results, risk factor sensitivity, as well as model transparency and interpretability. At the end of the project, pipeline integrity managers and risk engineers will have a clear understanding of machine learning methods and whether machine learning risk assessment is suitable for their Integrity Management and Risk Assessment program.
