Risk Model Improvement Initiative, Open Now

Secondly, if you were at the PODS Fall Forum or PHMSA gathering in Houston last month, you may have started to hear about amazing work being done with Machine Learning and AI for oil and gas pipeline risk assessment and integrity management. Specifically, our friend Mike Gloven, founder of Pipeline-Risk, has been a leader in our field.

Geonamic and Pipeline-Risk, both leading technology providers in the oil and gas midstream market, have partnered to sponsor a working group of forward-thinking pipeline operators and risk experts. The goal of the working group is to combine the experience, expertise and data of each participant to explore the practicality of adopting advanced and versatile machine-learned risk models. The project will focus on the efficacy of the models, validation of risk results, risk factor sensitivity, as well as model transparency and interpretability. At the end of the project, pipeline integrity managers and risk engineers will have a clear understanding of machine learning methods and whether machine learning risk assessment is suitable for their Integrity Management and Risk Assessment program.
